Black Bear Expedition, October 7 - 11, 2019
Plymouth, North Carolina.

A bit behind on my trip reports. I was trying to find the right words, to describe the images I am sharing from this trip. I could not find the right words to describe this adventure and the fun we had. So decided instead to share some notes from my photo journal instead…

October 9, 2019 - End of day two of our black bear trip. We have gone looking for bears almost everyday, since I have been out here, which totals about 4 days of searching for bears. I am happy to report, we have found them every day. I arrived a few days early to scout around before our guests arrived. I wanted to make sure we found them. For me it is always stressful before a trip, because I want to make sure we find the animals for our guests. Thankfully, we have had bears everyday; some good encounters, and not so good and I happily report, some great encounters with the bears. I have learned a lot about looking for bears and wildlife searching in general. So far we have encountered 14 different bears, in our two days of this trip. Not including the 11 bears I encountered before our friends arrived. It has been A great time out here in NC.

Tomorrow is our final day and I am really sad it is about to end, because I really like bears. I really like the work it takes to find them and the respect needed to be around them. All I know is I need more time with these animals and I am looking forward to creating more trips around these animals. Now that we have worked out the bugs in the trip, and I have found out what works, I am looking forward to returning here with a few more ideas in mind for better images, and better encounters… can’t wait for next season already.

Here is a photo gallery sharing some images from this season’s trip, hope you enjoy!
