Join us for this exploratory expedition off the coast of Baja, Mexico… where you will search for the largest animal that has ever lived on earth… the blue whale.

The chance to see blue whales is an intense experience.

Despite being the biggest animals on the planet, these whales are not easy to find.

We will be traveling to remote areas of the ocean where these magnificent creatures thrive.

You'll feel a rush like never before as you stand mere meters away from these iconic whales.

Photographing these hard to find giants is the highlight of any wildlife photographer.

While the primary focus of our expedition is to find blue whales, the magic lies in the unpredictability of nature.

Every day is a new adventure, and we make sure to take advantage of our time in the water to see the incredible wildlife around Baja.

We will also keep an eye out for other marine animals like bryde's whales, humpback whales, and finback whales.

Or you may encounter… striped marlin hunting baitballs, schooling mobula rays, sharks, and if fortune smiles upon us - ORCAS, as we experienced on last season's trip.

PRICE INCLUDES:

  • 5 DAYS OF WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS: We will spend five days in the open ocean seeking out wildlife.

  • 6 NIGHTS LODGING: Enjoy 6 nights of comfortable accommodation (Double Occupancy).
    For single occupancy add $500.

  • BREAKFASTS: Savor a delicious continental breakfast each morning at the hotel.

  • LUNCH ON THE BOAT: Recharge and refuel with lunches served on the boat.

  • REFRESHMENTS: We will have a variety of snacks and drinks available on the boat.

  • GRATUITIES FOR FISHERMEN: We include gratuities for local fishermen who play a vital role in guiding us to any blue whale or orca sightings.

TRIP ITINERARY
Day 1 - You arrive at the San Jose Del Cabo (SJD), you can pick up a taxi there that will take you to our hotel in Cabo.

The evening is yours to prep gear and cameras for the following morning. 7PM we will get together for a meeting to discuss the morning events.

Day 2 - 6 (5 Days) - We pick you up from our hotel, in the early morning and drive you to the marina, where we will head out in search of whales. We will be looking for blue whales, but we will also search out humpbacks, finbacks, sperm whales and orcas. These are long days at sea and everyday is different out in the open ocean.

Day 7 - We return you to the airport for your journey home.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY 

PAYMENT POLICY

  • A non-refundable deposit of $800 USD is required to reserve a space on SDM adventures.

  • 50% of the expedition cost (balance) is due 180 days prior to departure.

  • 100% of the expedition cost (balance) is due 90 days prior to departure.

  • A 4% surcharge is applied to payments made via credit card.

  • A 3% paypal surcharge is applied to payments made using paypal.

  • Payments can also be made via wire transfer. Just let us know and we will send you the bank transfer info.
    Please add $40 to cover bank fees.

    CANCELLATION POLICY 

    All cancellations made more than 120 days prior to departure will receive refund (less an administrative fee of $800 USD per person). This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. However, if we manage to fill the trip after you cancel, we will apply the deposit towards any of our trips that you sign up for, during the following 12 months. If you cancel again during that period, you will lose the deposit.

  • Cancellations made (91 to 120), calendar days prior to departure, are assessed a cancellation fee of 50% of the entire trip price, (including extensions).

  • Cancellations made within 90 days of departure date will not be refunded, therefore we strongly recommend all guest purchase travel insurance.

  • All cancellations must be made in writing by mail or by email to sdm@sharkdivermag.com, - received and acknowledged by SDM Adventures.

  • We are not responsible for cancellations due to medical or other reasons.

  • No fees will be refunded if you withdraw after an expedition begins.

  • We are not responsible for any fees associated with non-refundable air travel, we highly recommend the purchase of travel insurance.
