 Tiger Sharks and Great Hammerheads

Northern Bahamas

NOVEMBER 29 - December 6, 2025

Episode 15. Stormy Night on the Dolphin Dream
Arrival Day. Bad weather means no crossing to the Bahamas tonight. The Dolphin Dream sits in West Palm Beach as 9–11 foot rollers tear up the Gulf Stream. We’ll try to leave port in the morning, for now, it’s stories, new faces, and a calm night before the adventure begins.

Episode 16. Surviving the Crossing to Tiger Beach
Day 1. The crossing to the Bahamas was brutal. Heavy swells, rough seas, and half the boat feeling sick, but we made it.

Spirits are high, and tomorrow we begin diving. First a checkout dive, then we head to Tiger Beach to search for tiger sharks, including the legendary Emma. The adventure starts now.

Episode 17 comes from day two at Tiger Beach. We knocked out four dives today, a morning checkout dive at Turtle Reef, then straight into the action at Fish Tales where four tiger sharks were waiting for us.

The third dive, a shark feed, brought five tigers into the area, though only four made close passes. When the currents died the dive got a bit chaotic, but that’s Tiger Beach. We finished with a dusk/night dive on a super healthy reef while I searched for octopus. No luck, but an incredible dive anyway. An amazing day for our guests and a solid introduction to this iconic site.

Episode 18 of the Wild Minute.
Day three was spent at Tiger Beach. Nature gave us just one dive before the weather pushed us out. The wind was ripping and the seas were churned up, so after a single dive at Fish tales we pulled anchor and headed toward calmer waters.

But the dive we got was worth it, five tiger sharks, great visibility, and solid behavior. No Emma yet, but the search continues…

Episode 19. Day Four, and our final day at Tiger Beach.
Our final day at Tiger Beach could not have been better. After yesterday’s rough conditions, today delivered, tiger sharks, beautiful visibility, and one final dive that felt like pure magic.

We did have hazy water in the morning and had to cancel our second dive when the tide shifted and the currents died, leaving the sharks a little too fired up. But the last dive of the day made it all worth it.

Now we’re Bimini-bound in search of great hammerheads… and hopefully some dolphins.
