THE ADVENTURE

Thanks so much for your interest in our Uganda Primates & Wildlife Expedition—this is truly one of the most unique and soulful adventures we offer.

I’d love to share a bit more about the experience, and what makes this trip so special.

This journey takes you deep into the heart of East Africa, where you’ll come face-to-face with two of the continent’s most iconic and endangered primates: chimpanzees and mountain gorillas.

With fewer than 1,000 mountain gorillas left on Earth, seeing them in the wild isn’t just a bucket list moment—it’s something that stays with you forever.

The animals are completely wild, but habituated to human presence. That means the encounters are safe and respectful, but also absolutely raw and real. There’s no barrier. No cage. Just you, your guide, and these incredible beings a few feet away.

And the trip isn’t just about primates—we’ll also take you on traditional African safaris to track lions, elephants, giraffes, cape buffalo, hippos, and more. From misty mountain forests to sun-drenched savannahs, Uganda is one of the most biodiverse and underrated wildlife destinations on the planet.

If this feels like the kind of experience you’ve been dreaming about, let’s talk!

I can answer any questions you have about travel logistics, fitness level, camera gear, or anything else... We’d love to have you along for this unforgettable adventure.

You will get to observe them (close up), as they feed in fruiting trees, lounge, and/or socialize with each other.

You will do both a morning and an afternoon session with the chimpanzees, maximizing our time with these amazing primates.

In the forest you may also encounter more primates species; Black and white Columbus monkeys, L’Hoest Monkeys, Grey cheeked Mangabey, and Red tailed monkeys.

This is our final night stay in Kibale. We will pack our bags so they are ready for travel to our next destination in the morning.
